Sports Card Break-Even Calculator

Find the minimum gross sale price needed to recover your card cost after percentage fees, fixed fees, grading, and shipping.

Quick answer

Break-even = (invested cost + fixed selling costs) ÷ (1 − percentage fee rate).

When the marketplace charges a percentage of the final sale price, simply adding that percentage to your cost understates the price you need. Break-even is the gross sale amount where net proceeds equal the complete invested cost.

Will this card actually make money?

Model purchase cost, marketplace fees, grading, and shipping before you buy or list. No account required.

Platform presets are simplified U.S. estimates and can vary by category, order value, shipping/tax fee base, account, processor, and promotion. Use Custom rate when you know your actual effective fee.

Why break-even can exceed cost basis

A percentage selling fee is charged on the final transaction amount. The break-even formula solves backward through that fee instead of treating it as a fixed markup.

Use it as an offer floor

Compare an offer with break-even first, then decide how much profit or ROI you require above that floor. Review the complete break-even guide.
